Firefox Extensions for WordPress site development

December 24, 2009

Just had to share these two high-performing Firefox extensions, both of which live neatly in the left-hand side of your tray.

Colorzilla is an eyedropper style color picker for Firefox. This practical extension is great for quickly identifying the six digit hex code used throughout WordPress Themes. It was invaluable for totally transforming the core colors of Swift Theme on Linda Cure’s site from the sedate blue/grey default to a vibrant sporty blue/orange/yellow.

Measureit 0.3.9 draws a ruler across any webpage to check the width, height, or alignment of page elements in pixels. This is handy for measuring the width of your sidebars so you can appropriately size your widgets, pictures, and other content to fit.

I use these two extensions on every WordPress site I’ve developed and highly recommend both. Happy blogging!
